Mount Lehman is a small, rural but historic community on the northwestern side of Abbotsford. Established in 1874, this community is named after one of its early settlers, Isaac Lehman. Because of its elevated location, the community was eventually called Mount Lehman.
The Fraser River borders this community in the north and east. Its south is bordered by Harris Road and by Bradner Road in the west. The Matsqui Prairie also spreads east of Mount Lehman.
Mount Lehman’s area is peaceful, comprised of farms, wineries, and estate homes. Mount Lehman Farm and Mt. Lehman Vegetable Farm are banners for this community. Other farms in Mount Lehman include Tuscan Farm Gardens, J & A Poultry Farm, Blue Pacific Organic Farms, Five River Farms & Nursery, Steidle Farms, and Dynasty Farms. The community is also home to Singletree Winery, Season Premiere Winery, and Cannon Estate Winery.
Sycamore Hills, an equestrian facility, provides yet another charm to Mount Lehman. Games 2U, an events venue, and Heronsbridge, a wedding venue, echo a similar appeal for the community.
Several bed and breakfasts, like Season Premiere B&B, likewise operate in Mount Lehman. These establishments have contributed much to the influx of community visitors who want to experience a taste of countryside living.
Mount Lehman residents enjoy a vibrant social life, thanks to the active Mount Lehman Community Association. The Community Hall on Taylor Road that the association runs provides various facilities for community events.
The association also organizes and supports community endeavors to celebrate the history and heritage of Mount Lehman. In addition, it offers bursaries and/or scholarships to deserving students in the community.
A branch of the Fraser Valley Regional Library on Mount Lehman Road serves residents. Other amenities in this community include the Douglas Taylor Park on Harris Road featuring tranquil and beautiful nature trails. A post office, an insurance agency, a credit union, a fire hall, and an auto repair shop are also available in Mount Lehman.
With all the perks of living in Mount Lehman, it comes as no surprise that it has become one of the leading high-end communities in Abbotsford BC of Canada. Prime estate houses with acreage here can have price quotes in the multimillion-dollar range.
The typical estates in Mount Lehman sprawl over 10 acres or more. Similarly, their residences are generally spacious and boast a floor area of at least 3,000 square feet. The prime choices among these homes provide scenic views of nearby farmlands, vineyards, mountains, and the nearby Fraser River, which is but one of the trademarks of living in Mount Lehman.
